WELCOME HOME CELEBRATION
April 18, 2026

Honor Flight of the Cape Fear Area is excited to announce that the Welcome Home Celebration will be held in a hangar 

at Aero Center Wilmington on the ILM Airport campus this year

​

Unlike prior years, the plane will pull up and unload right in front of the crowd in the hangar as the Veterans return from their trip to Washington, D.C.

​

Plan to arrive at the hangar at 7:45 to get into place for an estimated  8:15 return 

​

Free parking is located in the over flow lot across from the ILM Shuttle Parking Lot on Trask Drive (follow signs to the Shuttle Lot)

Bring signs, flags and lots of good cheer!

Our Mission

Honor Flight of the Cape Fear Area (HFCFA) honors WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War era Veterans by taking them all-expenses-paid to Washington, DC for a day of remembrance as they visit the memorials and monuments built in their honor.
